2026 HSE Updates Week of June 24 – RAE, TSBC, ESC

Please review the applicable HSE Updates.

  • Company Safety Meeting Presentation:   deadline: two weeks following the Company Safety Meeting
    • It is mandatory to review the Company Safety Meeting on SiteDocs and sign-off that you have done so. If the deadline has passed – you missed it but are still expected to review and sign-off the presentation in SiteDocs.
  • H&S Bulletin: Answer due by 8am last Friday of the month
  • Health and Safety Committee: Next Meeting: usually Thurs before last Fri of the month
    • If you can’t join the HSC meetings,  you can still participate by providing feedback, questions, or concerns to hsc@raeengineering.ca. Please submit feedback prior to the next meeting so it can be brought forward.
    • The HSC meets the last Thursday of each month at 1pm via Teams
    • Previous HSC Meeting Minutes can be found in the Teams Channel and on SiteDocs
  • Safety Rewards Program:  Where your commitment to RAE’s Safety Culture is rewarded!
    • Submit more cards! Be specific in how your coworkers contribute to safety! The latest PRC winners are:

  • Peer Recognitions: Due by Company Safety Meeting each month
  • Technical Safety BC (TSBC)
    • TSBC has released Core Connections 2026 Recordings and Reports Now Available 
      • Their annual public meeting, has concluded and the recording is now available to watch online as well as also published answers to questions that hadn’t been answered during the meeting.
      • The 2025 State of Safety Report highlights key incidents, trends, hazards, and insights into safety management across the province.   
      • You can also explore the TSBC 2025 Annual Report, which shares organizational achievements, business performance, and financial results from the past year.
  • Energy Safety Canada (ESC)
    • ESC has released ESC News (Energy Safety Canada Online) which features:
      • Industry Insights 
        • Careers in Energy, a division of Energy Safety Canada, has released its updated National Labour Market Outlook to 2035, highlighting Canada’s position as a major global energy producer and exporter—and the workforce capacity required in a rapidly shifting global energy system. Read More
        • Call for participants – Safe driving success stories: Eligible participants must have between five and 10 years of driving experience and no incident reports of any kind through police or regulatory agencies. Drivers from a range of sectors and vehicle types are encouraged to participate. Learn More
        • Alberta OHS Proposed amendments to Alberta OHS Codes: Jobs, Economy Trade and Immigration is consulting on proposed changes to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Code. Engagement includes surveys on proposed changes to: Part 36 – Mining, Part 40 – Utility Workers – Electrical and more. Learn More
        • WorkSafeBC Proposed amendments to Part 20 of OHS Regulation: WorkSafeBC is requesting feedback on proposed amendments to Part 20, Construction, Excavation and Demolition — Shotcrete of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. The consultation phase gives stakeholders an opportunity to share feedback before proposed amendments are taken to public hearing. Learn More
      • ESC Highlights
        • On June 10, Energy Safety Canada and IOGP signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to strengthen collaboration and advance safety excellence across the sector.
        • Save the date: In partnership with the Northeast BC Producers Group, Energy Safety Canada is co-hosting the NEBC Producers HSE Conference from November 18 to 19, 2026 in Fort St. John.

    • Have your say: Alberta OHS Code changes 
      • The Government of Alberta’s Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration Ministry has initiated a 30-day public consultation on amendments to the AB Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Code. The public engagement focuses on five areas of proposed changes: 
        • Occupational Exposure Limits (OEL)
        • Barriers to labour mobility across jurisdictions and harmonization of training requirements related to construction
        • Part 36  —  Mining
        • Part 40  —  Utility Workers – Electrical; and
        • Miscellaneous changes to correct errors, update standards and OHS code approaches to referencing third-party technical standards.
      • Industry partners are encouraged to provide input on proposed changes by completing online surveys on the topics that matter to you. Surveys can be accessed at alberta.ca/ohs-code-review. Survey closes 8 July 2026
