  • COVID Restrictions at RAE Offices:
    • As per Christo’s email, RAE has returned to mandatory masking and physical distancing while in common areas of offices as well as working from home unless required. This is to align with current public guidelines (as indicated in the COVID section)
  • Pizza Friday: This Friday 24 September 2021
    • Management Communication Meeting (11am via Telus Business connect)
    • Company Safety Meeting (immediately following the Management Communication meeting)
    • Health and Safety Committee Meeting (1pm via Teams)

  • Company Safety Meeting Presentation:   was due Fri 10 September 2021 *part of SRP
    • If you have not already done so, please review the attached Company Safety Meeting and Employee training presentation and indicate that you have done so by replying to the email.
    • Even if you miss the deadline for meeting attendance, you are still required to review the Employee Safety Training presentation(s) and indicate you have done so.
  • September H&S Bulletin: Answer due by 8am Fri 24 September 2021 *part of SRP
    • Submit your response for the Health and Safety Bulletin for a chance to win $25 and earn Safety Rewards Points
  • Health and Safety Committee: *part of SRP
    • If you can’t join the HSC meetings,  provide feedback for the meeting minutes and/or submit any questions or concerns you want us to bring forward. Please submit feedback prior to the next meeting so it can be brought forward.
      • NB:  There was no HSC meeting held in August as quorum could not be met. Items will carry over to the September HSC meeting
  • Mandatory PPGs: Stats are gathered at the beginning of each month for the previous month *part of SRP
    • Ensure all mandatory PPGs have been reviewed and marked as “Read”. These are mandatory for all staff.
  • Hazard Reporting: Due by end of each month *part of SRP
    • Once a month, submit at least 1 hazard, incident, accident, or near miss to hazardreporting@raeengineering.ca
    • Non-work-related incidents count as well, just indicate that it was not work-related in the subject.
  • Peer Recognitions: Due by Company Safety Meeting each month *part of SRP

COVID-19

  • COVID-19 temporary measures came into effect 16 September 2021
  • Vaccines: Vaccines are our best defence to beat COVID-19. All eligible Albertans are encouraged to get vaccinated. A one-time incentive of $100 is now available for all Albertans 18+ who receive a first or second dose between September 3 and October 14.
  • Masking: Mandatory restriction, Masks are mandatory:
    • in all indoor public spaces, workplaces and places of worship, including eligible businesses that implement the Restriction Exemption Program
    • for employees in all indoor work settings, except while alone in work station
    • for all students in Grades 4 and up, plus staff and teachers in all grades

    • Mask Exceptions:
      • In the specific settings where a mask is required, anyone unable to wear a mask due to a medical condition will require a medical exception letter from an authorized health professional.
      • The medical exception letter may be presented when in a public setting if requested by enforcement officials, or retrospectively in court if a ticket is issued.
  • Working from home: Mandatory measure
    • Mandatory work-from-home measures are in place unless the employer has determined a physical presence is required for operational effectiveness.
    • If employees are working on location, they must mask in all indoor settings, except while alone in work stations.
  • Social gatherings: Mandatory measure – Effective Sept. 4 at 8 am
    • Indoor social gatherings
      • Vaccinated: Indoor private social gatherings are limited to a single household plus one other household to a maximum of 10 vaccine-eligible, vaccinated people and no restrictions on children under 12.
      • Unvaccinated: Indoor social gatherings are not permitted for vaccine-eligible people who are unvaccinated.
    • Outdoor social gatherings
      • Outdoor private social gatherings limited to a maximum of 200 people, with 2 metre physical distancing at all times.
  • Isolation and quarantine requirements:
    • Isolation is still legally required for people who have COVID-19 symptoms or tested positive.
    • Quarantine is no longer legally required for close contacts positive cases, unless directed to do so by local public health officials.
    • International travellers must still follow federal travel requirements.
    • Isolation hotels and quarantine supports are no longer available.
  • Lotteries and Incentives:
    • Open for Summer Lottery: Visit: https://www.alberta.ca/open-for-summer-lottery.aspx to enter. You only need to enter once to register for all draws, but you must be able to provide proof you have received your second dose. All Alberta residents 18 and older who have both doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine can enter to win one of three $1 million prizes.
      • 23 September is the deadline for the final draw
