Integrity Engineer

The Integrity Engineer carries out a variety of engineering assignments, requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fields. Problems usually solved by use of a combination of industry codes and standards, internal standard procedures, and best practice methods developed from previous assignments. Participates in planning to achieve prescribed objectives.

Responsibilities: • Conduct activities to meet the technical requirements of projects while maximizing the utilization of resources in a timely manner and at the same time providing the highest quality product • Conduct project activities in consultation with Team Leads, Vice President Engineering, and inspectors. • Make independent studies, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions. Difficult, complex, or unusual matters or decisions are usually referred to more senior authority. • May give technical guidance to several junior engineers, engineers-in-training (EITs ), technicians, or students who are assigned to work on a common project. Supervision over other engineers would not be a regular or continuing responsibility. • Undertake and supervise engineering activities in the field • Prepare and/or review engineering reports, status reports, and technical memoranda • Prepare budgets and proposals, itemize, and prioritize tasks, and set deliverables • Provide technical guidance to peers when required • Adherence to RAE safety and loss management policies and procedures • Act as a mentor according to APEGA requirements • Participate in weekly engineering coordination meetings, technical meetings, and safety meetings • Might be required to do research and prepare technical papers for publication

Qualifications:

Grande Prairie

Inspector (Visual)

Job Purpose: The Inspector is responsible for performing required inspections including internal and external pressure vessel inspections, dealing with the different Provincial regulators on behalf of the client, inspection reporting, inspection progress reporting, client meetings, and as required, signing off on all necessary legal documentation on behalf of the client. The Inspector also ensures that the inspection reporting performed for the client is completed in a timely fashion and that reports are correct.  Responsibilities:
  • Perform pressure vessel inspections and other inspection as per certification. Coordinate final details of field inspections.
  • Inspection and sign-off of repairs.
  • Perform inspections as assigned by the Chief Inspector or Team Lead to RAE Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines which governs RAE’s standard for doing inspections.
  • Responsible for writing all inspection related reports.
  • Responsible for following up on Action items, NCRs and other recommendations that he/she has written to ensure completion of that inspection job.
  • Responsible for obtaining all relevant and associated client asset data as required by RAE procedures.
  • Work with client to ensure correct installation of equipment and subsequent installation inspections.
  • Maintain good relationships with legal authorities.
  • Inspectors are actively promoted to gain experience and seniority in all aspects of inspection projects in order to work towards becoming Chief Inspectors.
  • Inspectors can be expected to take the lead on inspection projects as experience is gained. This can include all aspects of managing such projects through proper manpower allocations, budgets, client meetings and proper reporting
  • Be actively involved in building a strong company inspector program and assist with the mentoring of junior inspectors.
Qualifications:
  • Pressure Vessel Inspectors
    • API 510 certificate is mandatory
    • ABSA In-Service Pressure Vessel Inspection Certificate is mandatory
  • Boiler Inspectors
    • National Board exam completion is mandatory
    • ABSA In-Service Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspection Certificate is mandatory
  • Tank Inspectors
    • API 653 certificate is mandatory
  • Proven field inspection experience
    • Intermediate Inspector: 4 - 6 years
Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated understanding of inspection theories and principles
  • Demonstrated competence in asset integrity management

NDE Technician - Grande Prairie

1 Position Available in Grande Prairie Job Purpose: The NDE Technician performs calibrations, non-destructive tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and records results.  The NDE Technician will set up and calibrate equipment, as well as interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications.  The NDE Technician is also responsible for organizing and reporting results of the non-destructive testing. Responsibilities:
  • Conducts tests to ensure quality or detect defects using ultrasonic, magnetic particle or liquid penetrant non-destructive testing methods
  • Set up and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment
  • Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards
  • Evaluate results
  • Organize and report test results
  • Perform specialized inspections
  • Interface daily with client about work priorities and progress of projects
  • Actively participate in client programs
  • Work closely with client to identify and remove obstacles
  • Actively participate in client safety initiatives
  • Assist trainee technicians learning NDE as to proper techniques and acceptance criteria
  • Conduct Magnetic Flux Exclusion/wall crawler scanning

Qualifications:
  • The following qualifications are preferred for NDE Technicians:
    • CGSB UT Level 1 or 2
    • MT Level 2 would be an asset
  • 1-3 years of active and proven field inspection experience
Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated ability to perform inspections, including setting up corrosion surveys, and interpreting results of found indications for all certified methods
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Ability to produce intricate and accurate isometric drawings of vessels, tanks and piping
  • Ability to produce reports to communicate status of assigned projects in a timely manner
  • Excellent planning and organizations skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong leadership abilities to assist with training new technicians
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
