Project Administrator - Edmonton Office

We are seeking a detail-oriented self starter for the position of Project Administrator for our Engineering department. You will be responsible for effectively strategizing a plan, directing and monitoring projects and leading the engineering teams to success. You will ensure adherence to set timelines and budgets and frequently report on project progress. Organized, experienced candidates with strong interpersonal skills are encouraged to apply.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist project managers in all administration functions and processes.
  • Monitor all moving parts of the project keeping them synchronized and moving forward.
  • Prepare, organize and distribute all necessary project documents.
  • Attend all project meetings and take minutes.
  • Budget forecast and assess possible project risks and setbacks.
  • Maintain and update budgets as project progresses.
  • Calculate project metrics including quality assurance, profits and losses.
  • Analyze project data and produce progress reports.
  • Communicate pertinent information between management and staff.
  • Strategically create project plans, creating a timeline and setting benchmarks.
  • Advise staff on adherence to set budgets and project schedule.
  • Ensure project managers and staff are up to date on time and expense entry for all projects.
  • May be asked to to review and write technical reports.
  • Foster positive and productive relationships with clients and team members.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in project administration or similar role.
  • Advanced computer skills are required, including MS Office Suite.
  • Intermediate to advanced technical proofreading, editing and writing skills.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the field of Oil and Gas.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to achieve tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to motivate and keep project managers and staff on task.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of project management, flowcharts, technical documents, proposals, etc.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements for safe working conditions.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, especially during shut-down season.

Mechanical Engineer - Edmonton Office

Job Purpose:

Engineers are responsible for providing experience in the fields of project engineering, facilities integrity, inspection, and integrity assurance, including risk-based integrity management for the services provided by the Company. The responsible Engineer carries out a variety of engineering assignments, requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other fields. Problems are usually solved by use of a combination of industry codes and standards, internal standard procedures, and best practice methods developed from previous assignments. Participates in planning to achieve prescribed objectives. Work is not generally supervised in detail and the amount of supervision varies depending upon the assignment. Usually, technical guidance is available to review work programs and advise on unusual features of assignment. Responsibilities: · Conduct activities to meet the technical requirements of projects while maximizing the utilization of resources in a timely manner and at the same time providing the highest quality product. · Conduct project activities in consultation with Team Leads, Vice President Engineering, and inspectors. · Make independent studies, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions. Difficult, complex, or unusual matters or decisions are usually referred to more senior authority. · May give technical guidance to several junior engineers, engineers-in-training (EITs), technicians, or students who are assigned to work on a common project. Supervision over other engineers would not be a regular or continuing responsibility. · Undertake and supervise engineering activities in the field. · Prepare and/or review engineering reports, status reports, and technical memoranda. · Prepare budgets and proposals, itemize, and prioritize tasks, and set deliverables. · Provide technical guidance to peers when required. · Adherence to RAE safety and loss management policies and procedures · Act as a mentor according to APEGA requirements · Participate in weekly engineering coordination meetings, technical meetings, and safety meetings. · Might be required to do research and prepare technical papers for publication. · Do research and prepare technical papers for publication. · Participate in internal and external audits. · Review company systems, strategies, policies, and procedures, and advise suggestions and ideas for improvements and enhancements. · Troubleshoot and analyze equipment/facility condition to identify performance issues and advise on appropriate actions to ensure equipment/facility integrity. NDE Trainee / Inspection Assistant

NDE Trainee / Inspection Assistant RAE Engineering and Inspection Ltd. is looking for someone to join our team in Grande Prairie, AB. Working under the Branch Manager, this person will be willing to wear many different hats, while gaining knowledge and experience in the NDE field. We are looking for someone who may not have NDE experience but is willing to work hard and help the Branch Manager in any way necessary, while working towards an exciting career in the NDE field.
