Who We Are

Established in 1972 in Edmonton, Alberta, RAE Engineering and Inspection Ltd. has a long working history within the western Canadian upstream and mid-stream petroleum industry. With a combined experience level of over 450 years, the company has developed into one of the leading providers of “total asset integrity management” (TAIM) in Western Canada. RAE Engineering’s head office and laboratories are located in Edmonton with branch offices in Calgary, Grand Prairie and Red Deer.

At RAE Engineering, our focus is on determining and managing the integrity of pressure equipment, pressure piping, tanks, pipelines, and related mechanical equipment. Our expertise in Codes and Standards, combined with our mechanical and materials engineering background, enables our clients to always design, construct, and operate safely and efficiently, while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory bodies.

Our inspection services involve pressure equipment and boilers of all types, above ground storage tanks, and pipelines – in the power generation, mining, forestry and petroleum industries. We provide comprehensive engineering support and expertise in fitness-for-service evaluation, corrosion assessment, corrosion prevention, and coatings and linings inspection. RAE Engineering can also assist with the evaluation of pressure equipment assets prior to purchasing and can provide ongoing support in the management of client-owned and operated equipment.

RAE Engineering has developed and maintains a comprehensive and cost-effective equipment data management service for our clients. The RAE Equipment Management System database (REMS) is a very intuitive and easy to use database. REMS is client accessible 24/7, currently holds in excess of 70,000 pressure vessels and other assets, and is capable of interfacing with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Our clients are also supported by an industry-leading Coatings and Linings Laboratory as well as a Materials Laboratory – both located in our Edmonton facility.
