OHS
- The latest OHS eNews – November 2025 has been issued which features:
- Orders for print resources can now be placed again, but may be delayed due to the ongoing labour action with Canada Post
- CSA Group invites comment on drafts of two CSA standards and a technical specification. Visit the CSA Group’s draft review page (you will need to register for a free account).
- Be aware of fraudulent safety training certificates. Recently, there have been a number of instances where safety certificates were found to be falsified.
- Signs of a counterfeit certificate can include:
- absence of official logos, signatures or verification numbers;
- inconsistencies in formatting; or
- spelling errors
- Some providers offer online verification tools, such as Energy Safety Canada and the Red Cross. Other providers may need to be contacted directly.
- Signs of a counterfeit certificate can include:
- Slip, trip and fall reminders for November as colder weather can lead to icy conditions and an increased risk of slips, trips and falls.
- In addition to general slip, trip and fall hazards, working at heights during colder months presents unique risks that require specific safety measures. Surfaces like roofs, ladders and scaffolds can become especially hazardous in icy or wet conditions, increasing the risk of serious falls. A Fall protection plan can help protect workers.
- November is Family Violence Prevention Month in Alberta, family violence is a type of domestic violence, and any type of domestic violence can be a workplace hazard. For more information on Family Violence Prevention Month, visit alberta.ca/family-violence-prevention-month.
