COVID-19

  • Restrictions: Tuesday 6 April 2021 it was announced that Alberta would be returning to Step 1 in efforts to stop the spike of COVID-19 cases. All RAE employees and contractors are expected to comply with provincial health mandates.
  • Additional Restrictions effective today (5 May): Additional restrictions come into effect for regions with at least 50 cases per 100,000 people, and at least 30 active cases. These restrictions will be in place for at least 3 weeks and will be extended if necessary. Provincewide restrictions remain in effect for all other communities.
  • Vaccines: Every Albertan 30+ can get vaccinated starting May 6, and every Albertan 12+ can get vaccinated starting May 10.

BC Travel (a reminder from clients based in BC)

  • As many of you are aware, B.C. Premier John Hogan announced new travel restrictions to reduce non-essential travel and stop the spread of the coronavirus. Restrictions will be in place until at least the end of the May long weekend (May 25). These travel restrictions do not apply to essential travel within B.C. or between Alberta; this includes regular travel for work.
    • How do I prove I am an essential traveler?
      • The order will be enforced through a roadside checkpoint program that will apply to all travelers passing through. At this point, there will be no checkpoints at the B.C.- Alberta border.
      • At these roadside checkpoints, you may be asked to prove that you are an essential traveler. For contractors who are required to travel between the BC borders you are required to have letter from your employer stating you are an essential worker.  Please work with your employer to obtain this letter.
