• Company Safety Meeting Presentation:   deadline: two weeks following the Company Safety Meeting
  • It is mandatory to review the Company Safety Meeting on SiteDocs and sign-off that you have done so. If the deadline has passed – you missed it but are still expected to review and sign-off the presentation in SiteDocs.
• H&S Bulletin: Answer due by 8am last Friday of the month
  • Attached: July 2026 Health and Safety Bulletin
• Health and Safety Committee: Next Meeting: usually Thurs before last Fri of the month
  • If you can’t join the HSC meetings,  you can still participate by providing feedback, questions, or concerns to hsc@raeengineering.ca. Please submit feedback prior to the next meeting so it can be brought forward.
  • The HSC meets the last Thursday of each month at 1pm via Teams
  • Previous HSC Meeting Minutes can be found in the Teams Channel and on SiteDocs

  • Industry-Submitted Notification: Sour Gas Release from a Pig Barrel | IN-011
    • While attempting to pressure up a pig barrel to send a pig, a seal failed on the pig barrel door, resulting in loss of primary containment (LOPC) of sour gas. The seal was replaced, and a second attempt was made to send the pig, resulting in a second seal failure and an LOPC of sour gas.
    • Safety Bulletin: Tick Safety and Awareness | Issue 02-2026
      • Oil and gas workers should be aware of heightened tick activity across Western Canada in 2026. Many work activities are performed in remote, rural and vegetated environments, where exposure to ticks is more likely. As tick populations become more active, workers should take precautions to prevent tick bites and know how to recognize and respond to potential exposures.
    • Industry Insights
      • New combustible dust requirements: WorkSafeBC Board of Directors has approved amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation relating to combustible dusts. These amendments strengthen protections for workers while providing clearer expectations for employers.
      • WorkSafeBC preliminary base rates updated: WorkSafeBC announced its preliminary average base rate for 2027.     • Understanding the difference between worksite tours and inspections: Creating a strong safety culture is more than checking boxes—it depends on meaningful engagement and proactive hazard identification. Two key activities that support this goal are worksite tours and inspections. While they may seem similar at a glance, they serve different purposes within a safety management system. Understanding these differences helps ensure both are used effectively.
