HSE Updates Week of 15 March 2023 – RAE, ESC

  • Company Safety Meeting Presentation:   was due Fri 10 March 2023
    • If you have not already done so by the deadline, please review the attached Company Safety Meeting on SiteDocs to indicate you have reviewed it. If the deadline has passed – you missed it.
  • March H&S Bulletin: Answer due by 8am Friday 31 March 2023
  • Health and Safety Committee: Next Meeting: Thursday 30 March 2023 at 1pm
    • If you can’t join the HSC meetings,  you can still participate by providing feedback, questions, or concerns to hsc@raeengineering.ca. Please submit feedback prior to the next meeting so it can be brought forward.
    • The HSC meets the last Thursday of each month at 1pm via Teams
    • HSC Meeting Minutes can be found in the Teams Channel and SiteDocs
  • Hazard Reporting: Due by end of each month
    • Once a month, submit at least 1 hazard ID, incident, accident, or near miss to hazardreporting@raeengineering.ca to demonstrate your commitment to thinking about safety
    • Non-work-related incidents count as well, just indicate that it was not work-related in the subject.
  • Safety Rewards Program: Where your commitment to RAE’s Safety Culture is rewarded!

  • 2023 HSE Manual Knowledge Check:
    • RAE Contractors will be expected to complete the 2023 Knowledge Check after contract negotiations for the 2023 year.
  • Client Orientations:
    • With a new year, many clients are updating their orientations. A master list of client orientations made known to RAE Safety are compiled in Acumatica Doc RAE000020-Client Site Requirements and Orientations Tracker which is updated as orientations are made known.

Energy Safety Canada (ESC)

  • Available for Industry Review (45-day Industry Review)
    • ESC is seeking industry feedback on its updated Vehicle Recovery Program Development Guideline. The 45-day industry review period for this document concludes on April 23, 2023.
      • ESC is pleased to announce the completion of the second revision of its Vehicle Recovery Program Development Guideline. The draft document is now available for industry review. ESC invites you and your organization to view the updated guideline and welcomes your comments.
      • The Vehicle Recovery Guideline has been developed to provide light and medium duty vehicle operators in the energy industry with general information to avoid injury and damage while attempting to recover stuck vehicles. While acknowledging that every situation is unique and must be evaluated, this document gives an overview of commonly used equipment, and the general process to use, as well as identifies common hazards.
    • ESC is hosting a free webinar Wednesday 29 March 2023 from 12pm-1:30pm
      • Get an overview of the changes to Alberta’s OHS legislation coming into force March 31, 2023. This presentation will cover the updates to:
