As Federal and Provincial Regulations for environmental protection become ever more stringent, hydrocarbon product spillage is becoming a major issue for tank owners. Besides the environmental issue, obviously, spillages are expensive and pose serious fire and disposal hazards.
Spillages occur mainly because of compromised tank integrity, improper operation eg. over-filling and malfunctioning safety devices. Tank owners and operators will find a tank integrity management program (TIMP) based on API 653 to be a good investment for securing peace of mind, operational safety and of course to maintain compliance with the regulatory requirements.
The complexity and broad-based knowledge required for hydrocarbon tank inspection necessitates that the inspector be familiar with tank design, tank fabrication, welding, surveying basics, corrosion basics, cathodic protection and coating applications. As well, the inspector must be competent in NDT examination techniques and API 653 standards. RAE Engineering and Inspection Ltd. has the in-house capability to provide all of the above services and the necessary documentation.
Our Tank Integrity Management Programs (TIMP) comply adequately with all provincial requirements such as ERCB G-55 and S-01.
