Tank Inspectors employed by RAE Engineering and Inspection Ltd. are fully certified to API 653 – Tank Inspection, Repair, Alteration and Reconstruction. As with all of our inspectors – many of whom are professional engineers – they are supported by other CGSB certified RAE Engineering inspectors and have the full backup of our integrity and materials engineering staff.
RAE Engineering and Inspection Ltd. uses a wide range of specialized equipment to perform internal and external tank inspections. Our inspectors (and back-up engineering team) are well qualified to analyze potential defects and provide practical recommendations for remedial action.
The major AST integrity issue we deal with in the Alberta environment has to do with floor bottom – side corrosion rather than internal product. RAE Engineering and Inspection Ltd. uses the latest Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) floor scanning technology combined with industry – leading technical training to identify this corrosion, and when issues are found, provides sound repair recommendations. RAE Engineering inspectors use tank crawlers to gather shell thickness measurements as well as magnetic particle and pneumatic testing where applicable.
Another advantage of dealing with RAE Engineering and Inspection Ltd. is that our clients can be confident that we have the in-house project management skills to ensure any required repairs are performed correctly and to the applicable standards.
Your peace of mind is assured – whether it’s just a simple repair weld, patch plate, foundation repair, re-leveling or a complete shell plate replacement.
